Upcoming Litter

In just 4 short weeks Cupcake is expecting her first litter! I’m very excited to see these long thought out plans to produce high quality Dachshunds come to fruition. Their lineage is really quite stunning, and they could arrive in a beautiful array of colors and patterns, I may or may not have to keep one for myself.

Today I did another ultrasound and was able to isolate one puppy really well and see the little thing stretch and wiggle. Check out this video 🤩

I believe I was able to see 4 puppies on screen at once this time, but definitely at least the 3 I previously visualized when I originally confirmed her pregnancy. Ultrasound is not the best tool for counting puppies since you can not be sure you’re not counting the same one twice. But if you see them all on screen in one shot than you at least have a minimum number in mind.

I conduct my ultrasounds in the comfort and calm of our home using this hand held machine. It is easy to use, not harmful to mum or babies, and best of all does not require a costly trip to the vet. I only use this tool to confirm pregnancy and check up on babies. A more trained eye could use it for diagnostics.

Check back in mid June to see Cupcake in all her pregnancy glory. Fingers crossed she cooperates for her maternity shoot 😅
